Elsa High School student shines in gymnastics competition E-mail
Jewish Times Asia congratulates Jessica Jay, a Grade 6 student at Elsa High School, who recently finished second in one of Hong Kong’s major gymnastics competitions. Even more impressive, it was Jessica’s first-ever tournament.

The Sportscene Gymnastics Invitational Competition 2017 was held at the Australian International School on 30 April. Jessica competed with 37 other girls from across many gymnastics schools and teams in a group that included many who have competed in previous competitions. In addition, most of the other participants have been attending gymnastics schools for many years.

The competition was made up of various exercises, including floor, rhythmic, balancing routines and trampoline. The judges included former gymnastics coaches of Hong Kong, Ms Lau Yuen Ling and Ms Sandra Tsang.

Jessica was encouraged to take up the sport when she was in Grade 5, after spending some time in after-school activities with a former PE teacher at Elsa High.
