Book donation project in Myanmar E-mail

As part of the Education Project launched by the Embassy of Israel in Myanmar, Ambassador Hagay Moshe Behar visited Mon and Kayin States between the 22-23 May.

During his visit he had meetings with chief ministers and continued the donation of Soul Bird translation books, to different public libraries. Earlier this year, the embassy organised a visit to the country with internationally renowned Israeli author Michal Snunit of The Soul Bird. The embassy also aided in translating the children’s book from Hebrew into Myanmar language and redesigning it.

The ambassador met with U Ohn Myint, Chief Minister of Mon State government at his office and explained the embassy project. Following the meeting he continued to Mawlamyine University for a book donation ceremony, to around 300 libraries in Mon State.

Ambassador Behar also travelled to Kyin State and called upon U Zaw Min, Chief Minister of the Kayin State government. The book donation ceremony for Kayin State was held in War Su village, where the ambassador presented the project before the local audience.
