New Zealand community challenges shechitah ban E-mail

The New Zealand Jewish community could resort to legal action in order to overturn a ban on Jewish ritual slaughter.

David Carter, the country’s Minister for Agriculture, issued a new animal welfare commercial slaughter code “to ensure animals are treated humanely.” The regulation stipulates that animals are to be electrically stunned before slaughter.
