IGI - a mark of integrity in Asia's diamond industry E-mail

The International Gemological Institute (IGI) is one of only three international companies to provide diamond, fine gemstone and jewellery grading and certifying labs and the only such internationally recognised facility in Hong Kong.

The Hong Kong office and laboratory, established in November 2004, now employs thirty professionals.

Israel to host WATEC 2007 E-mail

The International Water Technologies and Environmental Control Exhibition and Conference -WATEC 2007, is the premiere event for the global water and environmental technologies market.

WATEC draws visitors from over 70 countries a large number from the Asia-Pacific region. Countries including: Australia, Burma, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Nepal, the Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan and Vietnam.

Top Image acquires majority share of ASG E-mail

Top Image Systems Ltd, a leading Israeli innovator of data capture solutions, announced that it has acquired 51 per cent of the share capital of Asiasoft Global(ASG).

The total price for the initial purchase is approximately US$1.8 million. Top Image Systems has retained the option to purchase the balance based on the ASG’s performance over the next 18 months.

Korean Airlines and Japan's JTB E-mail

Tourism Minister Yitzhak Aharonovich, following his trip to the Far East, announced new deals with Korean Airlines and JTB, Japan’s largest travel agency.

South Korea’s national carrier, Korean Airlines, agreed to renew flight services to Ben-Gurion Airport after a 10-year lapse. Korean Airlines will offer three non-stop flights each week between Seoul and Tel Aviv.

Israel's increasing exports to Asia E-mail

The Israel Export Institute reported that Israel industry generated US$2.4 billion from exports to Asia in the first half of this year, an increase of 17% from last year.

They also reported that they expect an increase by 14% to US$5 billion in 2007.
