Fostering increase in Israel - Cebu trade E-mail

Israel Ambassador to the Philippines, Zvi Aviner Vapni, recently met with the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) in order to foster an increase in the trade and business exchanges between Cebu and Israel.

He suggested that both Israel and Cebu consider sending business delegations in order to further promote this relationship. There are a number of areas in which this exchange would be profi table for both sides.

Comverse signs major Indonesian deal E-mail

Comverse, a leading supplier of software and systems enabling network-based multimedia enhanced communication and billing services, announced that Indonesian wireless operator Excelcomindo has selected Comverse SMSC to assist in the expansion of their SMS services.

Exelcemindo, with more than 19 million subscribers, is a major cellular provider in Indonesia. They have recently experienced a rapid growth in the personal and application-related text messaging needs of their customer base.

In 2005, Corinne Jedwood, following on the success of her community paper, Inside DB (Primedia Limited), recognised the need in Hong Kong for a quality, English language real estate magazine. Along with co-founder Tzachi Rechter, she launched Square Foot, a publication exclusively dedicated to the real estate industry.

Square Foot is published on a biweekly basis and distributed for free in locations that expats tend to congregate in. Jedwood, a novice in the publishing industry, only first made her entry into the market in 2002, yet her success has been tremendous. She credits her success to a sound business model drawn from her education and business experience in other industries.

Israel - Vietnam security technology forum E-mail

The Israeli Embassy in Vietnam in collaboration with Vietnamese Ministry of Information and Telecommunication organised a network security course in the Institute for Post and Telecommunication, Ho Chi Minh City on 12-16 May 2008. The forum was designed to encourage further cooperation between Israel and Vietnam.

Approximately 200 experts in network security from telecom enterprises, securities companies, banks, provincial authorities for Post and Telecommunications and other relevant governmental agencies in Ho Chi Minh City and surrounding provinces joined the course.

IAI and India's TATA sign agreement E-mail

Mr. Itzhak Nissan, President and CEO Israel Aerospace Industries Ltd (IAI), and Mr. Ratan N. Tata, Chairman Tata Advance Systems Ltd. (Tata), signed a framework agreement for cooperation in the development, manufacturing, marketing and support of defence products in India.

This May 2008 agreement was signed following the Memorandum of Agreement that was signed on 17 February in New Delhi during the Defexpo Defense show.
